Here I am
Hi! My name is Ilaria Alduini and I am the Slow Printmaker, started as a graphic designer and illustrator, now I design, draw, and also print.
I learned to draw at the International School of Comics, deepened my interest in illustration at the Bianca Cappello Art Academy, and became a graphic designer at IED (European Institute of Design), all in my beloved city of Florence.
Working as a freelancer, the need to get my hands dirty, literally, grew stronger over the years. I yearned to turn my creativity into something tangible and experiment beyond the screen. That’s how I discovered the wonderful world of typography and began collecting and cleaning wood and metal typefaces. I adopted a small printing press and restored it with patience and dedication. Now, we print designs, posters, and anything that can be inked and impressed onto paper. It’s a long journey, and the craft of printing is complex and fascinating, but the idea of independently managing the entire production process, from concept to print, is thrilling.
In my small workshop, handcrafted products are made slowly and with passion, following tradition. Visit the shop to dive into my creativity or contact me for any questions, collaborative projects, or even just to say hello. I’m happy to meet anyone who comes by, so don’t be shy, I can’t wait to hear for you!
