Linocut
It’s an ancient technique in which the draw is carved into a block of linoleum and becomes the printing matrix. Once inked, it impress the drawing onto paper or any other medium I wishes to use.
Carving allows me to step out of the paper sheet, and in an instant, I find myself lost among soft and hard lines, seemingly imperfect, enabling me to give my illustrations the warmth of true craftsmanship.
The illustration, once engraved on the linoleum plate, can be touched, and each time it is impressed onto the paper, it conveys its personality. Every print of the same subject is unique, different from the others, it’s all wonderfully handmade, really.
