Wood or metal? Here, all are warmly welcomed. If the woods don’t bring along any woodworms, even better. The movable types come from every part of Italy and fill beautifully restored drawers. They usually arrive full of dust, some even covered in layers of ink. It takes time (as usual), a pair of work gloves, liters of degreaser, thinner for the tougher cases, and oil, both straw-colored and elbow grease. They come in the most varied sizes, some very small others very large, each one has a story to tell and with each types, I can tell myriad new stories. Here, there is room for imagination.
